Must-Have List for a Luxury Bathroom

When deciding to upgrade your bathroom to the level of luxury that you would fully expect in a resort style spa environment, selection of finish materials as well as high-end fixtures will elevate the look of your bathroom and increase your home’s value.

Whirlpool Tub

A whirlpool tub is now considered standard for the master bath in any new construction residential dwelling. To upgrade the atmosphere to the level of “luxury”, install a 2 person whirlpool. The latest models sport up to 24 jet heads and are contoured to fit the body of the persons in the tub, and available in many different colors.

12 Head Shower Message

Commonly referred to as a “spa shower”, these 12 head shower enclosures feature independently adjustable heads so you can direct the water flow as well as the spray patterns individually, and include a pull-down spray wand for hand held usage. The luxury models are designed to be installed during construction, before the wall finish of the shower goes in. Lower priced models are self contained, and can be mounted to a finished wall.

Bidet

The bidet (pronounced beeday) is a common fixture in mid to upper class European bathrooms where daily showers are not commonplace, as they are in the U.S. The bidet is a fixture that resembles a toilet and is fixed to the floor next to the toilet. It is used for personal hygiene and cleansing after using the toilet, and is positioned next to it for easy transfer from one to the other. Not commonly seen in this country, but is becoming more popular in the elite residential homes, bidets are available through American Standard, Kohler and a host of other bathroom fixture manufacturers.

Finishes

To complete the transformation of your bathroom to a more luxurious level, be sure to implement high end finishes. Marble floors, shower walls and countertops are typical. Granite countertops are also very popular in combination with wood cabinets of cherry or mahogany. Faucets and shower heads are available in gold or platinum finishes perfecting the overall look of your luxury bathroom renovation.

If space is a problem then a great alternative to installing a stand alone bidet is a portable bathroom bidet sprayer from BathroomSprayers.com. It can be attached easily to your existing water supply for the toilet and comes in many styles and colors.

That tub looks really nice! I have a 4 bed 3 and 1/2 bath room house and I have this Whirlpool Tub It has all the bells and whistles. I’m looking for something simple and elegant for my 15 yr old daughter. Her mother wants me to get her a Whirlpool Tub so she will stop using ours. I guess she leaves it full of bubbles. Anyway the space I’m trying to fill is about 70 inches by 44 inches. please reply back with a unit that would best fit those dimensions.

    Thanks
