Pictures are Key

Whether you are doing work on your home yourself, or you are getting a contractor to do major renovations you need to be sure that you get pictures along the way. The reasons for getting these pictures vary depending on the who is doing the work.

If you are doing it yourself the pictures serve as proof of progress for your own good. Often these projects and renovations can take a long time and only small changes take place on a day to day basis. If you take pictures ever couple of days you work you will be able to look back and actually see the progress you’ve made.

It helps keep you motivated and positive about the direction of the project. It is similar to watching a child grow. If you see the child daily you rarely see the changes the child is making from day to day, but if you only see him/her once a year the changes will seem drastic. Also, in the end, you will have great pictures of the work you’ve done and also a proof of how much you improved that room.

If you are using a contractor some of the reasons can be the same, but mostly for insurance purposes. You still get before and after effect with the pictures you normally would, but you need to ensure that you take pictures along the way, especially if something seems wrong to you. That why when the renovations are done and there is something you still are unhappy with you can revert to the pictures pointing out where things went wrong.

But no matter what renovations you are doing to your house, and no matter who is doing the work taking pictures is a great way to end the day with some beautiful home photos.
