Tips for Buying Decks & Patios

Your looking to have a new deck built but don’t know what material your going to use. Here are a few wood types perfect for any deck whether your looking to use redwood, Cedar or even Douglas fur. Here are a few tips to help you choose.

Redwood makes a great deck surface is resistant to decay and holds up well in all weather. One of the only drawbacks to redwood is that it can be expensive. Next we have Cedar like redwood it is very soft and more expensive. Ceder if left untreated will not hold up well.

Pressure treated wood holds up well to weather, is decay and termite resistant and takes little to no maintenance. One problem with pressure treated wood is splinters. Which brings us to Douglas fur. Doug fur doesn’t hold up well to weather but if you use a heavy bodied stain Doug fur fairs well and is an economic choice for decking material.
