Stereophonic Sound in the Home
Home sound equipment comes in two forms: an integrated system that consists of one unit containing all the requisite parts of a stereophonic player and set-up which employs separate units for the receiver, CD player and sound system. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.
A single unit CD player can be very fine: the Bose Wave system, for instance has an AM/FM receiver as well as a CD player. The sound is excellent. The equipment is attractive and easily placed in your room.
There are other good competitors, so be sure to shop about. You can also put together your own system by buying separately a receiver, CD player, and speakers. This will take time and patience as well as research. There are many fine receivers out there as well as CD players, but your real problem will come with the speakers. You should determine m how large you want them to be and where you intend to put them. This will take some time and perhaps some experimentation.
