Tips for Buying Heat pumps - Baton Rouge

When you start your search for a heat pump, there are few things you should consider:

1. Start by deciding what type of pump will work best for you.  There are ground, water or air pumps, so be sure to know the difference before you head out.

2. You will also want to shop around at dealers you trust.  They will generally assist you in choosing a unit by taking a look at your home.  Look into the warranties that they offer as well.

3. Check out the energy efficiency ratings for each unit.  This will tell you how much energy you will be using up when the machine is running.  And remember, higher numbers equal more efficient units.

4. You will also find a Heating Performance factor on your unit.  The higher this number, the smaller amount of electricity that will be required to run the unit.  Normally a unit with a rating above seven is “high-efficiency” but the rating goes all the way up to ten.

5. Sound will be the last thing you will want to look at.  Most heat pumps will have sound ratings around seven to nine bells.  The lower this number, the quieter the machine will be.
